Chapter 4

After taking some time to compose myself, as much as I could, I'd walked into the museum. Okay, that had been weird. There'd been no sound.

“Hello?”

Nothing.

"Vixy?"

Still nothing.

"Kahz?"

I concentrated a little and cupped my ear to listen. Okay, there seemed to be a slight sound from down the back of the building, so I crept down the hallway, following the sounds as they became louder. Stopping at a closed door, I'd listened intently, and could hear Vixy, whimpering on the other side. Oh no, she'd been pulling her stitches out! She'd never liked stitches, even as a child, so she'd always be trying to pull them out. My mind raced at the thought of the mess she'd be making to her face, so I burst through the door and gasped at the sight. Okay, she'd not been trying to pull her stitches out. Vixy had been on her hands and knees, with her underwear hanging off one ear, while Kahz had his pants around his ankles, while being positioned behind her. Holy shit, I had just walked in on my best friend and my cousin while they'd been having sex. As bile rose in my throat, I muttered, “When you’re ready with that info on the next portal, Vixy, I’ll be waiting outside. Just look for the pile of puke.”

I then turned and walked out, hurrying along the hallway, and outside to take a few breaths. Kahz rushed out after me, pulling his pants up, with an embarrassed look on his face.

“Sorry, man,” he puffed, “We were just talking, and one thing led to another, you know?"

"Shut up, Kahz."

"It was an accident.”

I threw my arms up as I rounded on him.

“An accident?! That was an accident?! What happened, Kahz, did you slip and fall, and accidently stick your dick in my cousin?!"

"No!"

"Oops, sorry, Vixy, I guess I’m just having a bad week!”

“It wasn’t like that, Rayn!”

I held a hand up, silencing him.

“I don’t want to know any more. I’m happy for you, Kahz. I just don’t want to see it in future, okay?”

“Then, make more noise when you come down the hallway,” grumbled Vixy, as she walked out the doors, adjusting her bra under her shirt, "Fucking ninja bastard."

"I'm not a ninja."

She stood there with her hands on her hips.

“I haven’t been able to find much on the next realm, but I can give you what information I have.”

"Just keep your clothes on."

"Shut up, Rayn, you idiot, you deserved that."

"How did I deserve that?!"

"You were being a ninja."

After flipping her off, we followed her back in, the grin on Kahz’s face half a mile long. Vixy led us to a back room, thankfully not the same room they had just had sex in, before she put her glasses on, picked up a book and said, “Okay, Pluto is going to align with Earth in the next few hours, opening the next portal."

"And?"

"It’s been hard to decipher, but basically, from what I can work out, this realm is going to be a prick.
